Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using FinConvert (the "Service"), operated by Zero Loop Labs Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Service Description
FinConvert is a REST API that converts bank statement files between financial formats, including MT940 (SWIFT), CAMT.053 (ISO 20022), OFX, CSV, and JSON. The Service provides:
- Format conversion (
/v1/convert) - File parsing to a universal transaction model (
/v1/parse) - Automatic format detection (
/v1/detect)
The Service processes files in memory and returns results immediately. No uploaded files or financial data are stored, logged, or retained.
3. Account Terms
- You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your API keys. Treat them as passwords.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your API keys.
- You must notify us immediately at privacy@finconvert.dev if you suspect unauthorised use of your keys.
- You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Service.
4. API Usage
- Public endpoints (format detection, format listing) are rate-limited to 30 requests per minute.
- Authenticated endpoints (conversion, parsing) are rate-limited to 100 requests per minute.
- Maximum file size is 10 MB per request.
- You must implement exponential backoff when receiving 429 (Too Many Requests) responses.
- We reserve the right to throttle or suspend access to protect service stability.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Process files containing malware, illegal content, or data obtained without authorisation.
- Attempt to bypass rate limits, authentication, or other security measures.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service.
- Resell API access without our written consent.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
- Violate any applicable law or regulation.
6. Payment Terms
The Service offers usage-based pricing tiers. During the current pre-launch period, all access is via the waitlist and no charges apply. When billing is activated:
- Billing is monthly, charged at the beginning of each period.
- Usage exceeding your plan's conversion allowance may incur overage charges.
- You may upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your plan at any time.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- We do not offer refunds for partial months of service.
7. Intellectual Property
- You retain all rights to the files you upload and the converted output.
- We claim no ownership over your data or the results of conversions.
- The Service, its code, documentation, and branding are the intellectual property of Zero Loop Labs Ltd.
- You may not use our trademarks, logos, or brand assets without written permission.
8. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Zero Loop Labs Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from or relating to the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) fifty pounds sterling (£50).
9. Termination
- You may close your account and stop using the Service at any time.
- We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or engage in abusive behaviour.
- Upon termination, your API keys are revoked and your account data is deleted within 30 days.
- Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (limitation of liability, intellectual property, governing law) will survive.
10. Data Processing
When you use the Service to process bank statement files, we act as a data processor on your behalf under Article 28 of the UK GDPR. The uploaded files may contain personal data of your customers (names, account numbers, transaction details).
We process this data solely to perform the requested conversion and immediately discard it. No personal data from uploaded files is stored, logged, or used for any other purpose.

11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes at least 14 days before they take effect, by email or by posting a notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
